At
the Wembley Stadium on Saturday, the Gunners lifted the English FA Cup for a
record 13th time. The Gunners’ manager (Arsene Wenger) has now become the most
successful manager in the FA Cup history with seven titles. Arsenal took the
lead five minutes into the game through Alexis Sanchez, though controversial as
the linesman had his flag up for Aaron Ramsey, who was standing in an offside
position. Arsenal dominated the first half but could not double their lead. Super
Eagles forward, Victor Moses, was given a second yellow card on 68 minutes for
diving in the penalty area, and was sent off the pitch.

But the Blues got back into the game through Diego
Costa’s 76th-minute shot, only for Ramsey to head in the winner two minutes
later, as the game ended 2-1 in Arsenal’s favour. “I’m proud to have won seven
of these cups,” Wenger said after the victory. “I’m proud having done this –
winning the championship without losing and winning seven FA Cups. “We had an
outstanding performance from the first minute onwards. This team has suffered.
They’ve united and responded. “They showed strength and unity and played
spectacular football today.”
